This is a temple constructed by Mandavya Muni and finds special mention in Varaha Puranam

The Samithi would like to thank the Architect Shri Bashyam who amidst his busy schedules guided the construction team led by Shri Murali , Shri Kashinath and Sri Guhanandan. The team put up with all the pressures and executed the job marvelously.
We thank the Priests Shri Jayaram and Shri Nagaraj for their yeomen service during the period of this re-construction and supporting one and all.
We also would like to thank the many donors who donated in kind and adopted specific projects to make the process smooth and successful.

I am amazed to see the keen interest evinced by the natives in renovating this temple and perform Kumbabishekam and the visit by everyone for the occasion. Worship of Kuladeivam is totally different from worshiping any other deities. The deity at the Kuladeivam temple is the one worshiped by our ancestors for the welfare of their descendents and what we are today is due such prayers. One should make it a point to visit their native deity least once in an Year though not frequently.
